Celebrating nine years of successfully running the restaurant, Taste of the Himalayas, Dhruva Thapa (Co-owner) launched ‘Taste of the Himalayas: A Gift from the Finest Himalayan Restaurant.’ The English-language cookbook was launched on January 8, 2014 at Yogakula, California.
Douglas Osheroff, a Nobel Prize Laureate on Physics and Stanford University Professor was the chief guest at the book release. ‘Taste of the Himalayas’ includes a wide range of recipes of Nepali foods, many of which were gathered through Dhruva’s extensive journey of villages in Nepal. The photographs of the dishes in the book are taken by American photographer, Jamie Soja.
