“First Love” launched by Nepali music artists

First Love

At the Nepal Education & Book Fair Exhibition 2013 in Bhrikutimandap, members of Fine Print publication were handing out a small piece of paper cut out in a love shape. In the paper, it read:

Do you remember that tingly feeling one gets when one first falls in love? Of course, you do. No one forgets one’s first love, even if one is separated from one’s love for long. Let’s celebrate that love through the First Love Concert in which four of the most popular singers of our generation-Dharmendra Sewan, Hemanta Rana, Indira Joshi and Subani Moktan will launch the book First Love and belt out romantic songs. The event will take you back to your first love days.

That was an innovative pull strategy and the unplugged concert took place on the last day of the book exhibition. The emcee for the event was Bhupendra Khadka. Ajit Baral of Fine Print shared a few words on stage before the concert began.

The contributors to the book “First Love” are Richa Bhattarai, Bimal Aarohi, Lenin Banjade, Kumar Nagarkoti, Rawat, Shobha Sharma, Shivani Singh Tharu, Ajit Baral, Kamal Nepali and Subin Bhattarai. Before and after the concert, you could find most of the authors having a conversation and signing copies of the book for eager readers.

Fine Print creatively launched the book. The musical concert was the right medium to promote the book and engage the book’s target audience.
