Ncell Nepal Literature Festival 2013 made waves right from its inauguration on Friday, October 25, 2013 at Nepal Academy, Kamaladi. The four-day literary festival kicked off with much fanfare and excitement. National Poet Madhav Prasad Ghimire inaugurated the festival and spoke a few words at the stage. He was very happy to see the literary scene grow in Nepal, the growing number of books sold in the market and shared his feelings on the literary festival.
On the first day, La.Lit, the literary magazine’s volume 2, second issue was launched. After the magazine launch, there was a very good discussion on Prayogshala, the much talked about book in Nepal currently. Narayan Wagle, Subin Bhattarai, Sharda Sharma and Basanta Basnet discussion literature glamour: benefits and costs. Rabi Thapa, Prajwal Parajuli and Farah Ghuznavi discussed The Art of the Short Story. Anil Shah talked with Prakash Iyer on The Winning Habit.
On the second day, Kunda Dixit talked with Shobhaa De on the session titled Second Thoughts on Stardust, Society and Celebrity. Anil Chitrakar talked with Prakash Iyer on Take the lead. There was also a discussion on e-books: opportunities and challenges. Later on Richa Bhattarai talked with Rabinder Singh on Selling Love. The poets Abhi Subedi and Abhay K. talked about how to define a poet, a good poetry and shared poems among other things. Prajwal Parajuli had a honest conversation with Colin Cooper on international publishing, literary agents, writing good dialogues etc.
